RRB Technician Eligibility Criteria 2025
Age Limit (as on 01.07.2025)
- Technician Grade-I Signal: 18 to 33 years
- Technician Grade-III: 18 to 30 years
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC-NCL: 3 years
- PwBD: 10–15 years
- Ex-Servicemen: As per rules
Educational Qualification
- Technician Grade-I Signal:
3-year Diploma in Engineering (ECE/Electrical/Instrumentation) - Technician Grade-III Posts:
Matriculation + ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in relevant trade or Course Completed Act Apprenticeship
Note: Engineering Degree holders are not eligible unless specified. Graduate apprentices will not be accepted in place of ITI.
Medical Standards Required
Medical fitness is mandatory. Visual standards and general physical fitness are classified as:
- A3, B1, B2, C1 – based on post preference
- LASIK candidates are not eligible for A3 standard posts

Selection Process for RRB Technician 2025
The selection will be done in the following stages:
- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Document Verification (DV)
- Medical Examination
Separate CBTs will be conducted for Pay Level 5 and Pay Level 2.
RRB Technician Exam Pattern 2025 (Expected)
- Objective-type CBT
- Subjects: Mathematics, Reasoning, General Science, General Awareness
- Negative marking: 1/3rd marks for each wrong answer
- Normalization of marks will apply for multi-shift exams
